Haghill

Feasibility study exploring development opportunities in the Haghill area.

The extensive study looked at all development opportunities throughout the region of Haghill, Glasgow. It incorporated a diverse mix of proposals for gap sites and renewals to the existing urban fabric to the north - including the site of the derelict B listed Haghill Primary School - a prominent regional landmark that is rapidly being lost due to ongoing neglect. To the south, large swathes of brownfield land, the infilled route of the former railway line and land previously identified as being too steep to develop economically were all explored carefully.

New mixed tenure housing, a new major cycle route, community allotments and 'eco park' were developed to a detailed specification & costed. The proposals are ambitious and will no doubt take decades to fully realize. Work has already begun in earnest on the eco park proposal however and it is hoped with future investment, that the potential within this area of the east end continues to be realised.
